Manifesto

Climate changeii is a man-made phenomenon that will destroy everything we know. Or maybe it isn't. Whatever you believe, whether or not our actions are effecting the climate itself is not the issue, the undeniable fact is that we are destroying every ecosystem on the planet.

It is time to change the way we treat the world around us. It's time for our species to grow up and accept that it has a responsibility to the planet that sustains it. Despite every science fiction dream, we cannot just go out and get a new one. The consequences of our actions are not and abstract weight on the shoulders of "The Human Race", they are a very real burden on every individual.

So how can we actually do something about the state of the Planet? It's all well and good gettiing on our high horses and saying "we must do something". What should we do? There is only so much time available. Where should we spend our energies?

Do we get onto the streets and make a noise? Do we form pressure groups and lobby governments? Do we go into business and promote sustainablei business practices? Do we drop out and live off the land?

To be honest, we believe that all of these actions will have an effect. What matters is that we begin to take action. Through active debate, we can refine our choices of action, we can find flaws in our plans, we can discover common causes. This project chooses no side, we promote no specific course of action, but we do believe that we can do better.

We believe that by working and living in a sustainablei manner we can achieve more. That it is more profitable to run a business in a manner that respects its workers and environment than to exploit. That the best way to build prosperity is through peace and not war.
